November 2008
During the past five years I have amassed quite a collection of work from which we will select the
best pieces to be presented in a solo show by a selected gallery in Calgary. We are getting closer
to finding the right gallery with hopes of a show sometime in 2009. Working with a gallery will be
another exciting step in my career and with gallery representation means an increase in the value
and retail pricing of my work. The Christmas holidays are near so I decided to put together a
collection of 'Early Works' which I am offering at special rates...VIEW THE SALE NOW!
A Creatively Busy Year Capped by Two Fabulous Fall Shows
This year held many goals for me as an artist, the first goal always being to 'grow' as an artist and experiment with new creative directions, subjects and techniques. I explored new subjects with my 'Ethereal Clouds' and "Reflections' series meditating on shapes, reflections of light and color, seeing beyond the subject. I also explored Patriotism with my creative visions of the Canadian and BC flags
and continued on my creative exploration of Las Vegas with 'The Meadows 28' series. I capped off the Fall season by having work juried into both the Sidney Fine Arts Show and the Ladysmith Mixed Media Fine Art Exhibition, two very successful shows and I was proud to exhibit alongside some of the most noteable artists in the region. In addition to these shows I also exhibited work in selected shows at Nanaimo Art Gallery, Cedar Hill Gallery and continue ongoing exhibitions at Fresh Cup Sidney, Saanich and Sol Fine Foods Restaurant. I was also pleased to be highlighted as a featured artist on Art News Canada, MyArtSpace, Saatchi Gallery On-Line and Contemporary Artists of Vancouver Island.
So What Next?
As mentioned in previous editions of my newsletter I have been searching for a gallery space to hold
a solo exhibition of my work in Calgary, AB, Canada. This year I made two trips to Calgary and found
a handful of possibile locations. We are looking at securing a relationship with one location and my
feeling is the show could take place sometime in late 2009. I have also had many requests from you to hold a local Victoria, BC show and I will be planning a local show as well, just no confirmed dates
yet...it's coming! Until then you can continue to view my work locally at the folloing locations;
Fresh Cup Sidney, Fresh Cup Saanich and Sol Fine Foods on the Selkirk Waterfront in Victoria, BC.
If you love a piece you have seen on the website or in the venues listed above, let me know,
I would be happy to come by your home and let you see how the piece would look in your space.
