About a year and a half ago now I left my job to pursue my dream as a full-time artist thanks to the support of a private investor, family, friends and fans. It has been exciting to watch the work grow and evolve now that I am able to concentrate on creating every day. During the past five years I have amassed quite a collection of work from which we will select the best pieces to be presented in a solo show by a selected gallery in Calgary. We are getting closer to finding the right gallery with hopes of a show sometime in 2009. Working with a gallery will be another exciting step in my career and with gallery representation means an increase in the value and retail pricing of my work. Galleries often take 50% of the sale price on artwork they sell. As my storage space is bursting and the Christmas holidays are near, I decided to put together a collection of 'Early Works' which I am offering at special rates. Rather than giving the galleries 50% of the sale, I am happy to offer you; my friends, family and fans, 50% off selected original pieces before 2009.
With the economy in flux and investments on shakey ground I am encouraged by the fact that original fine art continues to be a solid investment. To make purchasing my work easier for you I am offering 30, 60 and 90 day financing on purchases over $1000. I have also recently added new services including; personal delivery to your home and hanging of the work (if you are on Vancouver Island), 'virtual' preview using a digital photo of your space and inserting a high quality photo of the selected art piece. We can also provide recommendations on framing services, if so desired, as with most of my original pieces they do not require framing as the design is painted right around the edge of the canvas creating a seamless image.
For whatever reason you buy original art there is one simple rule I have always believed in, 'YOU MUST LOVE THE PIECE' - if it is not something you absolutely have to have, then you probably should not invest in the piece. Living with art is a very different experience than seeing art in a gallery or museum. Living with your original art piece you will see it day in and day out, you will notice the colors change from morning to evening and with varying moods. A well painted, original piece of art, reveals itself layer by layer over time. Original art pieces add value and ambiance, they start conversations and add another dimension to your home or office.
As mentioned above, to assist in deciding where to hang your art piece I have started to offer a unique service. By emailing me a digital or scanned photo of the planned space, I can insert a high quality image of the art piece and email it back to you.
